Imagine this: it’s Christmas Eve and you are sitting on a couch with a cozy blanket next to a fireplace, sipping hot chocolate, and listening to… Christmas songs!
We all know and love them because they set the mood for the most immaculate Christmas vibes and celebrations. Here is my list of the top ten Christmas songs to make your holidays just a bit more jolly!
- “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms
In tenth place is “Jingle Bell Rock”. This reminds me of the type of song you would hear in an old rom-com or Christmas movie. Perfect for romanticizing your Christmas.
- “Let It Snow” by Dean Martin
Back in 2018, I took part in a dance performance to this song during a Disneyland parade, so it holds a special place in my heart and brings back childhood memories.
- “Holly Jolly Christmas” by Michael Buble
Michael Buble has sung and covered various Christmas songs, but this one is too iconic to not be in the top 10. I remember when I was younger, I would sing this song all the time with my friends.
- “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” by Andy Williams
The perfect holiday party song, and the best song for family gatherings between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee
Did you know that this song’s singer, Brenda Lee, was only 13 years old when she originally recorded this song? I think that makes it all the more special.
- “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Buble
I had to include another Buble song, but this one is my personal favorite. The tune blends with his voice perfectly and it’s his most popular Christmas song with 137 million views on YouTube.
- “Santa Baby” by Eartha Kitt (Original)
“Santa Baby” combines Christmas tunes with jazz and has been covered by various singers, such as Madonna (1987), Ariana Grande (2013), Gwen Stefani (2017), and even Laufey (2024).
- “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carrey
This is a classic, so I had to put it in the top five. With more than 623 million views on YouTube and 1.9 billion streams on Spotify since its release on Oct. 28, 1994, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is easily one of the most well known and iconic holiday songs.
- “Underneath The Tree” by Kelly Clarkson
“Underneath The Tree” is one of the most underrated Christmas songs. It’s an upbeat, cheerful song that embodies the perfect Christmas vibes.
- “Last Christmas” by Wham!
The number one spot goes to “Last Christmas” by Wham. I think this is a song that people of all age groups can enjoy. It’s upbeat but also peaceful. The beauty of it is just how relatable it is to so many people around the world. Some songs just transport you down a memory lane and this one surely succeeds in doing that.
So there you have it, my personal ratings of the top ten holiday songs. What are your favorite Christmas songs?
