The Weeknd’s latest creation
R&B singer The Weeknd is back with his new album, “Starboy,” which has given him an even better identity.
With featured artists like Future and Kendrick Lamar, fans are eager for what is next for this Toronto performer.
After earning more than 10 hits in just two years, The Weeknd’s “Starboy” will head straight to the top of the charts, just like his previous album, “Beauty Behind The Madness.”
The first single, “Starboy,” features Daft Punk and starts out with chill drums and The Weeknd’s iconic soothing voice. It’s more of a soft song to introduce somewhat of a rock song, “False Alarm.”
“False Alarm,” the second single released by the singer, begins slowly and is suddenly interrupted with a siren, or false alarm. The Weeknd provides his listeners with a unique chorus.
The third single, “Party Monster”, has the typical beat used in his old songs . Lana Del Rey’s voice in the background adds smoothness to the song as The Weeknd brings in his usual booming voice, creating the perfect duo.
“Rockin,” “Secrets” and many other songs take on an ’80s sound that reminds people of Michael Jackson.
In “Rockin’” The Weeknd sings, “People always talk about the ones that got away. I just seem to get the ones that always want to stay.”
Both these songs have deep meanings behind the words that his fans can appreciate.
Songs that are most loved on this album are “Six Feet Under,” “Die For You” and “True Colors.” The last two are more innocent compared to “Six Feet Under,” and each can easily get stuck in your head.
Every song tells its own story that makes the listener feel a deep connection to the singer. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions when listening to these 17 songs.
I give the album four out of four Grizzly paws.
