Note 7 blows away the competition

The new Samsung Note 7 has proven to have recently become a very hot product. One can say it has really blown up with consumers.

Recently there have been many cases of the smartphone overheating and exploding.

According to Forbes, part of the reason behind the aforementioned explosions is because of the phone’s internal battery. Once the battery reaches around, “…200 degrees Fahrenheit its materials start to break down, triggering a chemical chain reaction that releases its own energy.”

One instance of the phone igniting caused a Southwest Airlines flight in Louisville to evacuate, while still grounded. But this wasn’t even the original model of the phone. Iit was a replacement handset previously deemed as “safe.”

As if the flying wasn’t difficult enough. But it is now illegal in the United States to fly with the recalled phones. Samsung now swaps out users’ phones, so they do not have to be confiscated at airports.

The US is not the only place to have banned the mobile devices though. German international airline Lufthansa has banned all Note 7s, effective immediately. In short, the phone is not travel friendly.

There have also been cases of the phone going up in flames, while it was being used, burning the owner.

The phone market is really interesting these days. The choices are the $769 waterproof selfie machine, also known as the iPhone 7 Plus, or a cellphone that needs a fireproof box to ship.

Although consumers are urged to return the phones, some owners are refusing to send them back, claiming it is the only phone the possibly pyromaniacs like.

But the Note 7 may not be the only Samsung phone to burn a hole in your pocket. One user filed a lawsuit because a Galaxy S6 shot out flames five inches high, while another user  suffered melted flesh, The Guardian reported.

The firework phones have been discontinued, leaving Samsung “to deal with receiving back more than 1.5 million Galaxy Note 7 phones, both the original ones and those issued as replacements,” according to NBC News. Exploding phones seems to be quite a hot topic these days, so be ready with a fire extinguisher and your flame resistant shipping box.
