Google’s new phone is pretty much revolutionary

Google announced its new phone, the Google Pixel, on Oct. 4 at their Google Event in San Francisco.

The first thing that came to my mind was how similar the phone design was to  the  iPod Touch. It had the same white background and screen design.

But how exactly is the Pixel similar and different from other phones in the mobile market?

The Pixel boasts a 5.5 inch AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) display, the same size as the iPhone 7 Plus. But instead of using the LED-Backlit and 3D touch display like the iPhone, the Pixel uses an AMOLED display, giving it more of a vibrant color.

To put it in simpler terms, this phone has a better display than the iPhone.

Not only does the Pixel boast better resolution, it has a fantastic battery life. Charging it for 15 minutes allows the Pixel to operate on seven hours of battery life, giving it a faster charging time than the iPhone.

The phone also has been highly praised for it’s camera. According to the DxO Mark mobile tests, the Pixel boasts the highest rated camera to date with a 12.3 megapixel camera. The Pixel also supports 4K video recording, with a 1080p front camera as well. This is awesome for selfies.

One of the other great perks of the Pixel is its unlimited storage. While the iPhone has restrictions on how much storage users can take up in the iCloud, the Pixel has unlimited storage on Google Photos.

Not only that, all of the photos that are taken are stored on your Google account in the original quality.

Another great feature is Google Assistant. The Pixel comes equipped with Google’s assistant, their version of Apple’s Siri. Instead of having to press a button like for Siri, Google Assistant can be activated using the hot-word, “Ok Google.”

Besides the hotword activation, Google Assistant has been praised for it’s natural sounding voice.

The Pixel is a fantastic phone, but it does have some drawbacks.

This is one expensive phone. Compared with the iPhone’s’ $649 price tag, the Pixel costs a whopping $769.

While it has more limitations, like not having wireless charging or not being waterproof, the Google Pixel still is a great phone.

Those who really like Google or just like Androids and have the cash to spare, go buy a new Pixel phone.
