Barack Obama was the right man

Nearly four years ago Barack Obama won the 2008 presidential election and helped the U.S. on the road to recovery.

Back then Obama spread his message of hope, how he would pull us out of Iraq, help create jobs, improve foreign relations, and improve conditions for the working class.

President Obama should have been re-elected because he accomplished all of these goals and helped America improve from the horror of the Bush years.

Over the past four years, many people have benefited under his presidency because of his actions, such as ending the war in Iraq, pushing for equal rights, and getting the U.S. economy back on track.

During Obama’s first four years, he passed the universal health care bill which will help hundreds of thousands of people recieve health insurance.

Earlier in 2011, Obama ordered SEAL Team Six to raid Osama Bin Laden’s compound. They killed Bin Laden and gathered a lot of information regarding terrorist activities.

Obama also passed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to increase gender pay equality, repleaed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” to increase gay rights, and took measures to ensure that the U.S. auto industry did not go bankrupt.  Had he let  one of the strongest American industries go bankrupt, the economy could have collapsed.

Those who say he shouldn’t have been re-elected argue that trickle down economics is a more effective way to fix the economy than Obama’s plan to return to Clinton Administation level tax rates.

Trickle down economics gives tax cuts to the rich who in theory will use the money to create new jobs. It may sound good on paper, but does it really work? The truth is that the rich just pocket the money for themseslves.

The Bush presidency attempted this policy, but it failed to stimulate the economy.

Instead, President Obama plans to continue cutting taxes on the middle class, while increasing taxes on the rich to allow for more middle class spending and government deficit reduction.

Obama gave tax cuts to middle class families so they could save money. Under his presidency, the Obama Administration created 4.5 million jobs and dropped unemployment below 8 percent.

Obama was too valuable a president for the country to lose. If he was not re-elected the economic recovery would have slowed, the U.S. wouldn’t leave Afghanistan, and the rich would have continued to receive unfair benefits.
