The women’s golf team learned this week that they advanced to the NCS Qualifier for the first time in three years.
The ladies capped their regular season on Monday by shooting a 470 at Deer Ridge Golf Course in Brentwood and placing sixth at the EBAL championships. The team experienced a huge turn-around this season by finishing 5-9 in EBAL, 6-9 overall, after failing to win a league match the past two seasons.
The team returns to Deer Ridge on Monday for the NCS Qualifier. The top eight teams at the qualifier and top eight individuals not on those teams will advance to the NCS Division I Championship on Oct. 29 at Windsor Golf Course. Cal will be represented at the tournament by senior captain Madalyn Schenk, junior Qi Tian, sophomores Jen Zeng and Chi Cheng, and freshmen Fericia Terciano and Alexis Guimarares.
